You Can Support The Plantation

The Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation is a valuable resource to the entire Delaware Valley attracting school students, tourists and local visitors while benefiting local businesses and the area economy.

Like most non-profit historical sites, the Plantation needs ongoing support. You can help in several ways.

Become a Member – The Plantation offers four membership levels.          

> Individual              $35   (A single membership)

> Family                    $50   (Two parents and children living in the same house)

> Benjamin Franklin     $100 (A Family Membership plus additional guests)

> Joseph Pratt               $250 (A Franklin Membership plus a print of the Plantation farmhouse)

Become a Volunteer or Interpreter – “People” are the heart and soul of the Plantation.

 Some interpreters participate in special weekend events, demonstrate colonial skills and act as tour guides. Others teach classes, conduct workshops or simply are on hand to answer questions.  Still other volunteers prefer to work behind the scenes maintaining the property, working in the kitchen garden or caring for the animals. What do they all have in common? Aside from the reward they get from doing something they truly enjoy, there is also the satisfaction that they are needed and appreciated.

 You can become a volunteer and/or an interpreter.  Even if you don’t know much about colonial America, come out anyway. We will teach you what you need to know. Call our office at 610 566-1725 for more information.

Make a Contribution – Financial support is vitally important to the Plantation. Grants from private foundations are an important source of funding, but they are often “earmarked” for specific programs or projects. 

You can help the Plantation enormously by making a donation. Generally, an individual contribution is used to offset the Plantation’s operating expenses. However, you can direct your donation toward a specific purpose. For instance, you can “adopt an animal” or fund a project. You will automatically receive a membership to the Plantation based on the amount of your contribution

Checks can be made out to “CPP” and sent to the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation, Ridley Creek State Park, Media, PA 19063.

Become an Event Sponsor – The Plantation’s Sponsorship Program is directed primarily to local businesses and civic organizations. 

Sponsoring one of the Plantation’s weekend events has significant advantages.  The name of your business/organization will be included in all marketing, advertising, and publicity that supports the event you sponsor. As a result, you will become much more visible in the community. 

More importantly, you will become more closely associated with the Plantation, a highly respected, non-profit organization that provides valuable educational programs and services which benefit school students, teachers, local residents, tourists and the Delaware Valley economy.
