The Plantation’s Education Program
On-Site Tours & Workshops – Our
Education Program correlates with Pennsylvania State Academic Standards. On-site
programs are available April into November and must be scheduled by calling the
Plantation office, which is open year round, at 610-566-1725. Education
Programs cannot be scheduled via email.

A Combo Tour – Tyler Arboretum and the Plantation are
neighbors. You can combine a visit to both sites. Possible suggestions: the
Pratts & the Painters, the 18th & 19th century residents of our two sites OR the
Lenape Indians at Tyler and Archaeology at the Plantation. The focus is on

order for your group to receive the maximum benefit from your visit to the
Plantation, we have established a few regulations and guidelines.

Outreach – Each year from January through March, the
Plantation’s “interpreters” take colonial life programs “on the road.” Outreach
is available to both children and adults. In some instances we can even
customize our program to fit your needs.

Summer Camp – Students from kindergarten through eighth
grade attend the Plantation’s Summer Camp Program. Week long sessions begin in
late June and continue through early August. Each session provides information
and hands-on workshops that are age-appropriate. Typically we begin booking for
our summer camp in February. Please call our office early in the year for
up-to-date information.
Act 48 Education – The Plantation has been approved by the
Pennsylvania Department of Education as an “Act 48 provider.”
The 2008 Act 48 schedule of classes
is pending. Updates will be posted as soon as they are available.
